Default 1973 LS4 Numbers

Recently got a 73 LS4 Coupe. Numbers decode to a July build date. VIN is 31945. I know there were only 4,412 454's built that year. Is there anyway to find the highest VIN or last produced?

The last Corvette built for '73 ends with 34,464 but production only totaled 30,464. The missing numbers are VIN 24,001 through 28,000.

Your trim tag date code should be L02 which means the body was finished on July 2, 1973 a Monday. The car probably was completed and off the assembly lin on the next day.

The highest VIN that I am aware of with the LS4 is 34461. That would be the third from the last.

Any idea on the numbers of how many of the LS4's were coupes/convertibles?

You can take the database and do a sort by body type and engine type.

Let me know if you what a copy of the database. The database I mail out has a couple of extra sheets than the version on Goggle documents.

I had a 73 LS4 car that was built on the last day of production for the 73, I can't remember the VIN #, but I want to say that it was 30 from the end. FYI - Coupe, TH400, Blue-Green metallic with light saddle, Loaded including rear window defog. Was also ordered with a 3.08 gear.

In 72, the LS5 breakdown was 3,089 Coupe and 824 Convertible or 79/21%.

Using the same percentage for 73, you could guesstimate 3,485 Coupes and 927 Converts with LS4.

Only 1.5% of people are aware that 64% of statistics are made up on the spot and cannot be substantiated.

The 73 Database is at:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...jsnJtbLQ&hl=en

A listing of more detailed sales / build history is at:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...nyvnCNSQ&hl=en

I have not updated either file this month yet.

If anyone is interested I can email them a more complete database/build history spreadsheet.
