Default Side pipe question

I have a 1969 350 300 hp automatic and I'm trying to decide if i should pay about $1700 for hooker super comp pipes or pay like $400 to get the patriot pipes which you can see by clicking below

http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...DS=1&N=700+115

What do you guys think.

i think those patriot pipes are a lot more restrictive than hookers. i got a used set for under 500. just keep an eye out for them.

What do you mean by restrictive? I can get a set for $200 bucks but my mechanic who's a friend of mine keeps telling me to get the super comp pipes. Iz've been tryin to decide what to do for a while and cant make up my mind. Whats better in the long run??
Its also a matter of look. Do I want the hooker look or the straight pipe look?

By restrictive, he is referring to the exhaust flow; the Hookers have larger tubes and will not lose as much horsepower as the Patriots. Hookers have several finish choices too . . . chrome, ceramic coated (standard and sterling), stainless, & black. I decided on the stainless which are the most expensive of the choices, but in my opinion based on my research on CF, gave the best longevity and look. I paid $1470 for the Super Comp side mount headers, side tubes and AC bracket from Summit. Spent another $335 for STS baffles and $399 for the stainless heat shields from steelshields.com. They are not cheap, but I LOVE them . . . best upgrade that I've done yet!!!

If you can afford the Hookers, I'd go that route; they are very classy. There has been a lot of discussion about the different sidepipe options on this forum, so you may want to do a search and a lot of reading.

Listen to your buddy. Stay away from the $200 junk.
You can find a good used set of Hookers for around $500. Probably even with mufflers installed already.

go through jet hot sterling silver coating hookers. i think i got mine to my door for around $1,200 or something close. Best deal compared to everything else and that included the max flow inserts.
