Well THE day has arrived. Had to put the baby away for the winter. Took her for a 5 hour cruise before finally washing her and putting her away. She ran flawlessly and performed whenever I asked her to. (she treats me soooo gooood).
I stopped at a fellow Corvette owner’s house on the trip. He also has a ’68. I have never met him before but had acquired his phone number and gave him a ring to see if we could hook up. I’ve tried before but he was always working and out in the bush. This time he was home. GREAT!! I haven’t seen another ’68 since I bought mine sixteen months ago. His is also yellow but it was repainted many years ago with a 72 yellow (he thinks). Don’t know exactly what it is. (war bonnet yellow? or sunflower yellow?) Here are a couple of pics. (mine is the one with the big block hood and license plates)
Had a real good visit with him and I got to check out a number of things I have wanted to look at on another 68. A real treat for me. Sound like we may get together next year for a few local car shows.
Have already started a winter project list. Some BIG jobs and some little jobs. Everything from a new TKO 5 speed (big job) to a heater hose shut off valve (small job).
I’m sure I will be asking for advise, ideas and help through out the winter. Anyone want to stop by and help? LOL I’ll supply the beer.
Also took several videos while I was driving. Here are a couple that I can review through out the winter if I get the ‘itch’.
Runnin' thru the gears:
Down the Hi-way (just at the end I was doing just over 100mph)
Cool kinda like a little sister car. (Big brother would have to be a big block). Too bad its the end of the season for ya. I wont rub it in as its always open season here. VERYRide
Great video ....noticed it was taken from passenger seat ...
Got to hand it to you , it aint easy to hold camera, shift gears, and steer from the other side of console at 100 mph ......
