Default Clevis Pin tricks

Does anyone have any advice on how to get that damn pin back in? I drilled a hole in it so I can use a cotter pin instead of that stupid clip. Is it easier to get it in behing the pedal or infront of the pedal? It was harder than hell getting it out, but I'm struggling getting it back in.

HELP!!!

I think the most important advice I can give you is to be relaxed and well rested. It won't be easy so if you are already dreading it and pi$$ed at the world, it won't go well.

On my 73, it took a number of attempts and I actually lost the pin once. Never did find it either. Laying on my back, with a good light helped. I also found that having the booster not totally tight helped a lot too. I had about an inch of slack on all four bolts.

You also need to make sure that you are fairly close to having the holes line up before you start as there isn't much taper on the clevis pin. I used a Craftsman right angle awl to make sure that it was close.

Once you start the pin, I found that moving the pedal back and forth allowed the pin to get the rest of the way through.

I didn't have much trouble getting the retainer on, but your pin modification should be even easier once it it in.

Patience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!
