Semper Fi Brothers!
November 10th will mark 233 years since the birth of our Corps 
Semper Fi to all that have earned the title "Marine"!

Semper Fi and happy birthday to all Marines past and present. The Marine Corps was born in a bar, Tunn Taverne, and we've been kicking a$$ for the past 233 years. OORAH!

I wasnt a Marine, but I was "Marine-trained", by my Drill Instructor, for 16 fun-filled weeks, "Gunnery Sgt Walker, United States Marine Corps!! Ooh RAH!!!"
The movie "An Officer and a Gentleman" with Richard Gere and Lou Gossett was based on Navy AOCS. All future aviation officers (Pilots and Navigators) were trained in P'Cola by MARINE DI's. Future "Ship drivers" (surface and subs) were trained in Newport, RI by Navy Drill Instructors. Cost cutting eliminated AOCS a couple of years ago, now all are Navy trained in Newport. The end of a proud tradition of Marine-trained Naval Aviators in Pensacola!!! Many beers drank at Trader Jons, Seville Quarter, and Pensacola Beach!!!
(*** The 3 sources of Naval Officers are the Naval Academy, ROTC and AOCS)
