That is one roller that is worth the asking price. Look up 2nd generation restorations. (Supporting Vendor). Also did the Red/white Road race replica, Celebrity choice winner at Carlisle this year. If you put an engine in this car, you have a show winner. It is that simple. The detail and finish of the work is unbelievable. I am suprised the seller is selling it, but oh well, he is. This is a beautiful car.
I say he can ask whatever he wants, when it comes to modified cars they are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them, there is no "book value", so good luck to him. The seller is a member here, Dr L-88

I never said he couldn’t ask what he wanted…I merely said it was a lot for a roller. 50,000-10,000(value of car)=40,000(paint and body work) Say you have a 10,000 dollar car, you get a 10,000.00 paint job, that leaves a lot of money (30,000) to buy a nice motor…aluminum big block maybe.

If this car was done to Stans normal standards, you could take the 10K for the paint job (which may be a little on the low side) then you add in the cost of redoing the frame (body off???), suspension, brakes, fuel system, wheels, tires, the 'specialty items" like the seats/rollcage/headlights.
For the average enthusiast all that work is outside of their realm, so they have to pay to get it done, so add in the $75+ an hour for labor then 50K doesnt sound that bad.
Again it may not be everybodies cup of tea, but someone who is an AIR fan and likes the none flared style C3 race car, then its right up their alley.
