I love those amps...I have the TXA6004 in my Vette, and the DB651s are good speakers. I think though, that with the power you get from that amp you'll be better off with more substance from the front speakers. Taking suggestions even if they are a bit more expensive?
Also, that head unit is not good quality. It will have bad sound to start with, and may stop working altogether down the road. Better to get a good quality unit. For inexpensive yet good, I suggest the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X492.
Well if you don't mind spending a bit more, which includes buying some grills, and minor trimming of the birdcage packet lips...I suggest these. AMAZING sound quality and great mid-bass.

No the DB651s will fit in the kick panels with no modifications to the birdcage at all. The CDTs have a slightly larger basket and that's what needs the lips to be cut off. It's fast and easy and no one would ever know the difference.
Trust me, CDT offers competition level speakers for several thousand dollars...the ones I linked to you are just a very good speaker that will sound great in your Vette. I installed that same set of speakers and that same amp in a friend's '74 and he says it's like a Nickleback concert. He has a hot 355 and side pipes and he still enjoys his music just fine.
Oh, get with me when you want a sub. I have one for sale in a box I built for the back of a C3, and the T-tops will still fit.

Rather than 22RMS, this one has 35RMS x 4. Would you still need an amp? Thanks
