'79 tranny
This may seem like a dumb question,but I'm new to C3 ownership. I have a stock,all numbers matching '79 with auto tranny. Do I have a 3 or a 4 speed automatic? The tranny only shifts twice after accelerating from a stop (into 2nd & 3rd) and it seems like it should have another gear at speed!

Thanks,Duke for the reply. I was just curious 'cause another post mentioned a 4-speed auto on an '82,and my car seems to want to go into another gear when I'm at highway speeds, but the guy I bought it from said that the rear end was geared for low-end torque, so that's probably what I'm feeling.
