Default Odds and Ends

There are a few odds and ends on the restore of my 75 that I am unsure how to resolve. I hope some of you can help out a little.

1. I installed new front and rear bumpers on my 75 during the restore. The old ones were just cracking away and they were replaced with fiberglass bumpers. There isn't much room at all behind the bumper and all the supporting in the front and back. Now the mounting brackets that were on the old bumpers doesn't look right. I figured before I do anything, what have you all done to mount the front and rear license plates? Did you use any brackets? Did you dremel out a sqaure hole to mount plastic inserts? Did you just screw the plates into the fiberglass? Any and all ideas would be very helpful.

2. The front turn signal assembly seems to be located too far back. Did any of you have to drill new holes closer to the front or what was done to resolve this?

3. I ordered the weather strip the goes up against the windows on the doors from Mid-America Corvette and they didn't fit right. It would notmgo up against the door every tight and they were damaged from shipping. I had them too long to send them back. I ordered another set from Corvette Central thinking it would fit better but they are the same way but not damaged. The pre-drilled holes didn't even line up. I ended up using these but I am not very happy how they look. I also had to adjust the window to press up tighter to the felt as these don't seem to be quite as wide as the original ones. Has anyone ordered any from other places that worked well?

Thanks....I still have the interior to do. The exterior is mostly done.

I don't think anyone can help or cares to help since nobody even looks at this post. I guess I'll figure it our on my own rather than try to get ideas here.

If you do a search here on the forum about the weatherstripping issues you will find that some brands are better than others for originality and quality. Most will recommend Wilcox.

On the bumper, first check your AIM to see if you have all the parts under there you are suppose to have or if you have different year parts that a previous owner used instead.

The turn signal, without thinking about it too hard, the first thing that comes to my mind is a telescoping steering wheel. Some vettes had both tilt and tele, I can't remember which years though.
