We have, I would think the original slottted wheels on our 1980 L-48. They have a tarnished look to them and I would like to clean them up while I have them off rebuilding the brakes. I know the Corvette Forum folks have dealt with the same stuff. Your cars look too good. What can I get to clean the wheels without ruining them completely? Or do I need to take them somewhere to get his done?
This depends on the cleaning that need s done I used some old rubbing compound and alot of elbo grease I mean 2or 3 hours per rim. if they are not that bad mothers and clean rags I havent used the power ball people seem to like them.
The rims had a clear spray from the factory if thats your problem get ready to spend some money or elbo grease Mine look like new now all I have to do is hit them every other month with a little polish .I use mothers alloy polish.
I took a picture of the wheel but I could not seem to get it in here ? It will be a least a week or so before I get my wiring issues fixed. That has to be corrected before anything else gets tackled. Thanks for your help. I will use the Mother's on them while I am waiting on getting the wiring really fixed before we fire it up again.
Thanks again,
