Default Difference between 74 and 75 license light

I lost one of my license lights on 74' but when I looked it up for that year the new ones look nothing like what are on there now. They actually look like the 75's. Is there a difference in the two? Because I'm just going to get the 75 one.

I know the 74's where 1 year only but is it possible that I have 75's on instead?

One way to tell is the 74 has half the clear lens painted silver.

There are not the same. Compare the pics at Corvette America for #26992 (1974) and X2468 (1975-87). And of course the 1974 takes two and 1975 just one.

Well are they that different that you couldnt use a 75 in place of a 74's for just 1? As I said I'm not a perfectionist.

Yes, that could be done. In fact you could go to NAPA and get a universal unit if your intent is to simply comply with safety standards.

Didn't even think of that. Oh well bought a 75's. Thanks for the help.
