I have a good condition OEM radio that is supposed to have been removed from a Corvette. It is AM/FM Stereo w/8 Track. How can I tell what year it would be from?
It would have to be a 1977 or newer. '77 was the first year the console could accept a corporate radio so they could offer 8-track. In 1978 they also started offering the 8-track with CB.

In late '77 when I bought my (leftover) '77 Corvette, the dealer had a rack of GM radios, including ones with cassette that they could install in my Corvette... for a price. Since mine came with an 8-track, I asked him to switch it to a cassette. He said he would be happy to, if I bought the Delco cassette radio, as no one wanted 8-tracks anymore and he would be stuck with it.
Since the console accepted almost any GM corporate radio, I wouldn't be surprised to find almost any GM radio of the era in a Corvette as they were available over the counter and many dealers were only too happy to sell accessories.

Even if it is out of a Vette it will not have any value as was a radio that was common to all models.
I have an interchange manual but it is only for 68-77, so only one it applies to here is the 77. For the 77 radio/stereo/with tape, it states is interchangable with all 71-77 full size chevys, 71-77 Vega, 73-77 Blazer, Chevelle, Jimmy, Monte Carlo, and Sprint, 73-77 pickups and Suburban, Etc, Etc, Etc......
