what could cause this? Im not near the car but I will be in about a week. My dad called me the other day telling me that he moved the vette and that my left head light wont go down, help
Yep, probably bad relay or actuator. Crank it, pull the lights on, then lean down between the actuators up front and listen. Sometimes you can hear those relays leaking.
ok, Ill check for those when I get home, but would the bad relays or vacuum leak be something that could develop so quickly? wouldent it have been something that I could have noticed before? or is it one of those things that happens over night?

well it has to start sometime so why not now? what i do is this, i run the engine and let it build vacuum for a bit. ill stop it with the headlights up and listen for an air leak, ill do the same thing with the lights down and listen up front as well as back but the check valve and filter.
also get up under the dash check the relaease valve directly below the steering wheel.
Usually one side being a problem is a component of that side
example (actuator, relay, or hose for that side.) youll find it!
Yep, they can go bad overnight. I recently had a relay up front just start leaking out of the blue. Once you locate the problem, it's an easy fix. Everything is pretty easy to get to. Except maybe the back of the headlight switch.

Hey Miles, if any of those relays and actuators are the original ones, you might want to just replace them all. When I first started working on my lights, I replaced one leaky relay, and that fixed them for a short while. Then one of the actuators started leaking. Before it was over, I had replaced both actuators, both relays, vacuum check valve, and filter. That was over a year ago, and they're still working perfect. It's kinda like the brake calipers on these cars. If the car has sat up for a while, they're all eventually gonna leak. Good luck,

Quickly? It's been there for 37 years. I'd say it took a while to go bad.
if you still have problems with your headlights check out the electric conversion kit from www.ECPB.biz the kit comes complete with everything you need and installs in two hours
Dude, what's with you and your conversion kits for everything vacuum?
Ok, I've seen 4 posts concerning vacuum problems and you posted a link to conversion kits in each one. I get the distinct feeling you are selling these kits. You need to talk with the mods first.
