Default Bolt size

Some how or another I am missing bolts for my 72 bumpers. I am only missing them because I sent the bumpers for re-chroming back in May....and the car is coming out of the body shop this week. I forgot where I placed the damn things.

What is the best way to find the size of a particular bolt and thread pattern? The AIM show the bolt number 9419077 for the front bumper. There is also a 9419075 which I presume is a different size.

Any help or direction is appreciated.....RT

get a tap and dye set and use it to determine the size and thread, most are 3/8 and 7/16.

I don't have a part number i.d. so I don't know the specific bolt you are referring to. However, the following bolts were used on the 1968-1972 Front Bumper;

Bolt: 7/16, 14 tpi, 1.25" long
Bolt: 1/4, 20 tpi, 5/8" long
Bolt: 3/8, 16 tpi, 2" long
Bolt: 1/2, 13 tpi, 1.5" long
