Ive got a question about a car I used to own and Im wondering if the DMV here in Ca would be interested in hearing about the car.The car in question is an 80 L-82 I owned 22 years ago.I hadnt seen the car in years and it recently surfaced on Craigslist as being an original 20,000 miles unmolested car. This car came form Mich, had severe rust in the Birdcage and elsewhere in the car,had been wrecked, cut in half and spliced back together.I called the owner that had the car for sale and gave him the story on the car, said I was mistaken, couldnt be the same car.I emailed him pictures of the car and license plate, didnt have much to say after that.He called me a few days later and told me the car had been donated. Is it possible to get the info on this car in the system?Car in question is a 1980 L-82,white,red interior with the T-top carrier option.License Number is 2CVT801.This car has been with the same owner for the last 20+ years and was recently sold so it is out there.
Your best point of contact would probably be the Cal Attorney General's office. You could call them of write them. They may choose to
1. Do nothing
2. Do a search and locate the purchasing party and inform them of your information
3. Give the purchaser your contact info
