Default Red 69s Heads

Guys I’m sure you have heard of the head issue that Red 69 has run into.I’m not sure what happen exactly but I’m not here for that. Its Christmas and I believe Mike (Red 69) would feel much better if he didn’t have to worry about this anymore.I would like to spread out the pain of this $770 by passing around the hat for some donations. If the heads turn up they can be sold and the money can be redistributed and if they don’t so be it.I’ll put $50 in the hat to get things started. If Mike has a paypal account and I can remember how to do it I’ll send it to him immediately otherwise by what ever means Mike suggests.
..............Thanks and Merry Christmas

Ya, I've heard of the problem.

Why doesn't DB just refund the money.

DB, pay the man.

I would like to put in 50$ but I want to hear the details of how they disappeared. I saw the last thread and know about that they were last shipped from the Machinist. Is there any tracking numbers, where has the line of communication broke down? I know DB seems like a stand up guy helping out where-ever he can. If they were lost in shipping, what about shipping insurance? Something seems weird here. If these things were truly lost I would throw in 50$, to a fellow vetter.

It would seem as though someone else would benefit as well.

We all know how DB helps all that he can on this forum. I can not imagine he would do anything underhanded! I too will pledge $50.

That is a very nice thing for everyone to do for Red but, I think the fact of the matter is DB should pay the him back.

Part of the thing that keeps people honest when selling on forums is the fact that they will be back balled by the forum if they don't hold up there end of the deal. So what gives?

Since moving to Florida over 2 years ago, I've spoken by-phone, traded-ideas, and raced with Red numerous times, and while he'd be flattered by this generous offer, I feel certain that he will-not accept the kindness of this Forum's members, pitching-in to offset his financial loss, regarding this matter:
with him, at this point in-time, it is a matter of principle.

I stand corrected

I haven't spoken with him since our last outing at Lakeland Motorsports Park, and he expressed his desire to get this handled in the "appropriate manner", as he said it, either the heads he 'thought' he'd bought, or his money back from DB.

I'll give Mike $50 at his next race, the season-opener at Orlando Speed World on 17 January, but somebody's reputation rivals a dog-crap salad

Maybe it wasn't intentional, but neverless DB should refund the guy his dough.

I don't have a problem helping out a fellow vetter either, but something does appear weird, I surely do agree.

Well said.

I have made purchases from the truely customer service oriented legit vendors on this site. Just last week, I bought from Wilcox and from Van Steel. Now, both these vendors are stand up when it comes to complaints. If you have a complaint with either of these guys, they will take care of the problem.

DB, learn from the experienced and immediately pay the guy his money back. Otherwise you will only appear to most of us that you are a.....well, I won't go there.

While the intent of re-imbursing Red 69 for his lost money certainly is admirable, I have a better idea. Why take DB off the hook? I suggest taking up a collection to hire a lawyer and go after DB for the money. Maybe then he will learn a lesson. Otherwise, he'll just pull this stunt again if he thinks his loyal supporters will bail him out every time.

Since DB has the $770 and Red 69 doesn't have the heads, DB should be the one filling the hat. No need for anyone else to contribute money. Anyone who has sold stuff on the forum or over the Internet has had occasions where things have gone badly. Time for DB to man-up and refund the money and try to recoup things on his end. Anything less is wussy IMO.

They are both adults and should settle the matter themselves.

I am sure there are homeless shelters or food banks that need the money
more than someone modifying a Corvette.
