Bought 2 locking style motor mounts from Mid-America (Item#160652) and the inside diameter is exactly 1/4" to wide and cannot be used! I am in the middle of installing Hooker side pipes and doing the mounts while I have the area clear; now I am dead in the water!
These mounts are for 63 to 82 and I have an 82, the packaging and the invoice also state for this. The arrived in sealed bags with the above item number.
Is it me? Has anyone else had this problem with their motor mounts?
Let me know before I start my real rant.
Thanks!
I found out today that there are two different motor mounts for SB Chevy. The mounts I got evidently are for a 305 not a 350... I will call MAM Monday and see what they say.
I had a problem with a set that I got last year from a local parts store. I could get one side lined up but not the other. I wasted 3 or 4 hours trying to get them to work. Took them back and got a set from NAPA and they worked like a charm. No problem at all.
Phil plan on coming over tomorrow after I get off work (3pm) I've got a set of mounts in my garage, bring yours over and we'll compare. & if these will work we can work something out.

I bought a pair of motor mounts from Ecklers, the safety ones. Tried to drop the motor in but it just wouldn't sit right. If the driver side sat in the pass. side would not sit. I had my wife help me with the engine hoist.I played with it for weeks, only when I could work on it. I finally went to a local Kragens Auto and bought a stock non safety one. Bolted it on and had it suspended so after dinner my wife could help me again. Went downstairs an saw the motor had drop down by itself from the weight of the motor. Funny, it dropped down and sat right where it should. All that time wasted on the other motor mount. Tony
