Default Mecum Auto Auction

Am watching the auction tonight (am guessing is recorded earlier)...seems that several cars are not meeting the reserves, more than I recall in previous shows.

I'm watching some Vettes and Camaros and Firebirds sell for what seem reasonable prices. Some that I wouldn't mind having.

A couple of early C3's at $20k or less....of course, there was the 69 Yenko Camaro that bid up to around $270k but did not meet reserve. Must be a sign of the times....

Aren't those the auctions from April (I was at one of them)? If so, they arent particularly relevant to what the market is today.

I get email notification from them and they have several auction each year in various locations in the south and midwest. You can look up past and future auctions and the selling prices on the internet.

That would explain a couple of things to me (that they were from earlier in the year).

I watched an episode again this morning. Seems what I was watching last night was recorded earlier, like in the spring. They commented that this was either the first airing or one of the very early ones.

The market was seemingly soft then but I agree with you, not particularly relevant to today's market. Interesting to see some of the cars from the 60s and 70s.

Thanks.....Mark
