Default '79 starter solenoid removal/replacement.

First time under the car. I'd like to inspect the solenoid.
Is there a "how to" thread or could someone please help with how to remove the solenoid? I'm having trouble reaching the bolt on the inside of the solenoid body. I've read that I may be lucky and can clean up the insides a bit or flip over the copper disc to improve the electrical connection?
Can I just remove the end cap to get inside the solenoid? Thanks.

much easier to remove the starter then the solenoid,
generally their is nothing to clean on a solenoid
if your starter solinoid is making intermitant contact, not starting unless you whack the starter, the solinoid can be dissassembled, and the copper contact washer can be flipped over to resolve this issue. the contact bolts also must be resurfaced also.
If you have never done this, I suggest go buy a new solenoid.
