Default Replacing a/c clutch

I am doing it with the compressor still in the car.. that said is it okay to drive it while I have the clutch plate/hub off the compressor?? I still have the pulley and belt attached so everything stays in balance..

You must remove the compressor belt from the waterpump and crank pulley.

Just pull the belt off, it's pointless to leave the belt on. When you pull the hub off, the pulley is held in place with a snap ring, the pulley and bearing is a zero clearance fit, not pressed on. If the snap ring failed (unlikely) the pulley could come off and do some damage underhood. The pulley can't come off when the hub is in place. Make sure when you reinstall the hub, you clean the pulley surface and set the correct gap.
