71 coupe question
I won't get my car till tomorrow but I noticed it had a lock cylinder in the back like a trunk lock...My 68 didn't have this..What is it???

factory alarm.... you should see a horn behind your left rear tire just above the side marker light..

When you get the car, you will want to make sure the alarm key is included. They do not work off the ignition/door keys.

Daffy,
That factory alarm system uses a pin switch with three locations. One for each door, and one for the hood. This is what activates the horn honking when either door or hood is opened with the alarm switch turned on that is in the rear panel.

In 71 the alarm key is the oval key which also operates the inside center storage lock and spare tire lock.
