I finally got the kool mat done. I may add a couple of small pieces when I install the carpet. I even put a piece under the rear deck.
I think it will get the inside quiet and keep it cool.
It is .105" thick and it's not bad to work with. I ended up buying three 30"x8' rolls and cutting it myself. I used masking paper to make the paterns, so it was easy to cut any holes and make any splits in the paper before I screwed up on the expensive stuff.

How did you connect the seams? Or does the mat overlap and stick to itself?

You just butt them together and use silicone to smooth the joints. This stuff does not have any andhesive on it. They tell you to glue it down with heavy duty 3m carpet glue, I tried something different after 3 can of that stuff (it did not go far) I ended up using contact cement from Lowes. It works very good and it won't break the bank using it. It is called weldwood and it list working with just about anything.
The glue sets up for bonding in about 15 min. and it says 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. work time. It looks just like the stuff you spray out of the 3m cans.
And it smells the same, you don't need anything to drink while using this stuff, it will make you VERY happy with out the beer. I had to remove the seatbelt covers after I fiqured out they go on top of the carpet and I think you will tear the fiberglass all to pieces getting this stuff back up after it gains full stength.
