Default timing

will advancing the timing on a 81 do more harm than good. i used to run the timing on older 350's at around 10 to 14 degrees BTC, not 8. thanks namvet

Seems to have better throttle response and take off with a stock 81.
Took mine to about 14 degs before and no pinging runs great.... it actually got rid of most of my cold engine hesitation too!

#1. This post should be over in the Technical section to get more detailed responses.

#2. Read Lar's posts about timing and tuning and you will have a good running engine. There are some articles in Other->Tech Tips that should help you out.
