Forum "Friend"?

Forum "Friend"?
Someone asked me to be their Forum "Friend". Not sure how that works or what it means?? We can PM or e-mail when we want and to whom we wish. I can't see why this feature exists. Can anyone shed some light on this Forum option?

Yeah you can delete the request if you like, or just ignore it.
It serves no real purpose except that it gives you quick access to the names of people you might PM with regularly. Say you had a friend on your list, and wanted to send him a PM. Instead of doing an advanced member search, a PM to him is one click away from your profile page. This is useful to me since I PM so heavily with other members.

Pretty much what DB said...add them, delete them...doesn't matter. But you can never have to many friends.
