Warning about Prothane
Hey all, a while back i bought a complete prothane polyurethane kit for my 1980. I will say that all the poly parts are excellent, high quality, and fit well.
The warning is about the sway bar linkages they included. More specifically the bolts. The long bolts used in the linkage assembly are from the factory Grade 8. I bought a new sway bar from VBP, which included the linkages, those bolts were Grade 8.
The bolts that prothane uses are grade 5. Now i may be just paranoid, but i used grade 8 on anything that is a chassis part.
like i said, i probably am worrying way too much, but if you have ever had a suspension bolt fail on you, well, you worry. So a friendly heads up to everyone, cheers
