I was looking at the stainless Magnaflow system for my '69 but was concerned on how to fit it with Hooker long tube headers.
thanks, Ed
I am using Speed Hounds headers on an LS motor. To fit this kit to headers there will still have to be some fabricating. If you look the kit is supposed to fit factory exhaust manifolds.
yup, that was the same thing i had heard also. i bought a 50 foot roll of this stuff from summit and wrapped the front passenger pipe also. my tach cable was laying right on the pipes and didnt have enough flex in it to route it in another direction.
anyways, with the double wrap, i shouldnt have any heat issues. i can grab the pipes after a hard run and they may be about 160ish degrees. the spring above it will barely be above luke warm.
This is what an Allen's stainless steel system looks like after 17 years on my 1973...
The mufflers look almost like the day I installed them...
Great sounding system and looks terrific after all of these years and Allen's are a great bunch of folks to deal with. I picked up a complete side exhaust system from them this summer at Carlisle for my '63 as well. Can't wait to hear it...
Mr. Gasket Blackjack headers I sent off to be jet-hot coated. 2 1/2" pipes, with crosspipe into 3" Flowmaster 50s. Everyone loves the sound, but it's too loud in the cockpit for anything over 30 minutes of cruising. I'm thinking maybe Ultraflow Dynamax Hemis. Someone suggested a second crosspipe or crossovers.
