has anyone bought or have had experience with the Hurst Shifter Kit from Corvette Central? If so, please let me know your thoughts and recommendations.
Back when I had the 4 speed Muncie in my car it was a great shifter. Well worth it in my book. The Hurst shifter is way ahead of the stock sloppy shifter.

I have it installed and it works great. There used to be an issue with the handle. In fact the one in your pic has a curve at the lower end. Mine is just straight. I did need to use a spacer block to have the correct offset. Looks like they may have redesigned for that problem. This is what I have http://go.mrgasket.com/pdf/3738611.pdf
i have the older one with the strait handle on it also. awesome shifter, but i still need to get a spacer for mine so i can put the shift cover back on.

If your car is not an all original car, go for it.
I have it on my 69 and I love it. The kit in the picture is new. Mine came with the Hurst looking shifter handle with the white ball on top. I had to pay extra for the stock looking handle and deal with the spacer etc.

I have an all original 69 and the stock shifter was KRAP! After installing a Hurst shifter in my 76 - I had to install one in the 78 & the 69. No comparison to the stock shifter.
I just put one in my 73, great shifter, I still had to bend the bottom of the new handle alittle so it would sit in the center of the console. Pretty easy with a good vise.
The Hurst shifter in my 76 has been in it since 76, first thing I replaced. Other than replacing the clips a few years ago I feel that it's the one of the best things that has been done to it.
