Looking a carpet sets, and have used ACC in the past and probably will again. However I was looking through the Mid America catalog, has anyone used their "PERFORMANCE CHOICE Carpeting". Looks like a clean set, just curious if anyone is familiar with them, and if they like them or not. thanks
I ordered a front set only from Mid America because I was planning to replace just the pass side due to discoloration from a heater core leak years ago. Was ASSURED by the sales guy that it was an identical match to original factory carpet. NOT!
It's a VERY NICE CARPET but the cut pile nap is very tight, almost velour looking. Not at all like the original. Sent it back and ended up redying the pass side carpet. Turned out good as new.
I used ACC in the past and it's much closer to original.
Maybe their 80/20 is close to original for the earlier C3s.

Mid America spray dye. Peeled the label off and it's SEM dye, directions specifically say it's good for carpet.
Pulled the carpet out.
Thoroughly hosed it out which took much of the color out where the anti freeze had remained for who knows how many years after the heater leak. Always felt kinda skummy.
Sprayed it on working it deep into the nap. Let it dry and brushed it out with a bristle brush. Repeated that process several times. Only did the section in the footwell and it blended right in with the rest of the carpet. I actually took my wife's dog grooming clippers and trimmed any loose looking fuzz off.
Turned out great and even feels new again. This was on a low mile original Vette so it was important to me to keep it factory.
The color is uniform, shading is just the lighting.
