75 has a combination shoulder/lap belt. 1 retractor under the seat and 1 behind the seat.

The shoulder belt was RPO A85. Some 646 of 4,629 convertibles produced in 1975 had them. So they were not terribly common. In my case (1974) the numbers were 618 of 5,474.

hey paul 74 do you have a link to those production #'s for a 71? I have not run across anything for seat belts, mine has the shoulder straps through the top back of the seats.

I'm not familiar with coupe belts; I was giving numbers for the convertible. But there were 14,680 coupes and 7,121 convertibles produced in 1971 (21,801 total). Only 677 of those convertibles came with the A85 shoulder belt option. Apparently integrated lap/shoulder belts were standard on the coupe and only lap belts on the convertible. But someone will correct me if I am wrong.

The numbers are from Antonick's "Corvette Black Book."

Thanks for the info Paul, I stand corrected.

Default shoulder belt

So it looks like I never had a shoulder belt. You say it was an option. I don't have an opening in the top corner of the seat either but I have an extra knobby kindof thing on top of the buckle. Probably just a gm cost saving thing. Go figure, they were trying to save money in the 70's.
