Default Replacing Fuel lines

I am having the carb rebuilt and decided to replace the metal gas lines and brass connector. The motor is a 1971 LT-1. When installing the new gas lines do I need to put anything on the threads to make them so they don't leak? The old lines had teflon tape--but for NCRS judging that's a NO, No---because that wasen't used when the car was built. Any information appreciated.

Use a little pipe sealant on the brass fitting where it installs into the pump (it is a 1/4" NPT thread) but NOTHING on the steel tube fittings as they use inverted flares to seal.

I hope your talking about the line from the pump to the carb. If you don't have them get a good set of flare wrenches this is usually three. This is the best way to loosen or tighten fuel or brake lines. Also they will save you a lot of grief.
Good Luck
