Vin No Query?????

Vin No Query?????

Hi,
I just registered my vette on the C3 registry and it gave the vin number as 1Z37J######## instead of 1Z37Z######## has anyone got any idea what that 5th letter symbolises and why it has come out different on the registry after putting in my last 5 numbers???

for 1974 the 5th digit is the engine letter
j=350 195hp
t=350 250hp
z=454 270hp

per your profile, your car has a 454, the letter should be a Z assuming your cars engine has not been replaced. The J means the car came with a L48, standard 350.

Contact the C3 registry folks. Might be a glitch with their system.
