Looking for a C3 with/for my son (33yo) can I have some opinions on this on from the people who know them...the last auction with a no pay bidder the car went to 16k
Thanks
nice car but value will drop quickly as he drives it. if you were my dad, i would want you to buy me a nice small block chrome bumper vert for $16K
That's a true statement, the more miles that go on. the more value it will lose until it's just another 77. Being an L82 will help it hold value, but get 60K miles on it and the value will drop drastically, IMHO.............

You have got to provide more information. Do you/ your son/ want to drive it as is, modify it, restore it, race it, or sit and stare at it in the garage and hopethe 77 increases in value? Thats not a bad price for a good 77, but whats yer plan?
Thats a couple of very different choices... an NOM, wrong color modified car vs an overpriced low mile car. I think the OP needs to determine exactly the type of car he is shopping for before making decisions like this.
As posted, $16k is money lost on a '77 the moment its driven, although 16 is too much to begin with for an entry-level year. I agree with the idea of getting a "nice small block chrome bumper convertible for 16k" instead, although I'm not at all confident that's as easy as you say. Most decent chrome bumper convertibles with correct motors are $20k minimum, with work to do, especially 68-69.
To the OP: think about what you want re: how much you want to spend, if you want a correct car, if you will drive it, etc. Then make appropriate choices for candidates.
