Default TCS Component Test Procedure?

Does anyone know a test procedure to ensure each of the TCS system components are working? My solenoid is new so I only need to test the switch in the transmission and the relay under the dash.

For 70, you can start the engine. TCS should be overriden by the temp switch. Normal fast idle

Once warmed, (not sure of exact time),the TCS system will energize and you'll notice a idle drop. At that point you can shift to 3rd or 4th gear,(HOLD THE CLUTCH IN), and the trans switch will de-activate the TCS and the idle will rise. This is for 70 4sp.

That will test the trans switch. Not sure I know what the relay under the dash is. My 70 is on the driver side firewall

Dennis, same relay only they moved it inside passenger compartment. Can't get to it unless you take off the upper dash pad because its mounted on the windshield frame.

just realized your a 72. The 71 is a strange bird for the TCS, not sure with 72.

4sp? If yes the trans switch should work the same.
