I am trying to get mount #4 (behind the rear wheel) out and the bolt just turns. I can hear the nut on the inside turning, is there a way to get to the nut or do I grind the head of the bolt off. And then what, how do you repair it.
Thanks
From: Ville de la Baie Quebec. A winner is just a loser who tried again.
You gain access inside the car just behind the wheel well,, there is a depression there. its not easy to work in there,, I would sudjest cutting from the outside and replace the the whole thing

You'll probably end up grinding the bolt off but before you do try sticking a large screwdriver or something similar down into the access hole to see if it will wedge the nut in place. If you are planning on removing the body I would just go ahead and grind off the bolt head.
To replace the nut and cage you have to grind off the aluminum rivets that hold the reinforcement on, remove it and then drill out the rivets for the nut cage. Replacement parts are available through Zip and other vendors. I replaced the reinforcements on the 72 but I'm just using bolts to hold them on. The weight of the body and the body bolts clamp them to the frame anyway. No NCRS scrutiny for this car.
My mount and everything was shot I ground off the head of the bolt and drilled out the rivets and got rid of it all. Then I shimmed the body up and ground off the #4 mount and rewelded on a new one and replaced the rubber grommet, shims and let the body back down shimmed it up correctly and used a nut and bolt to hald it all togther.
With the body off you can easily access the mount. I used a sharpie marker to mark where the center of the should be. I then used a hand grinder to remove the old mount, it has been a while I cannot remember how it was secured, I know I welded the new one, the nut sets free inside of the cage to allow for movement. I have used paragon for many years, as a matter of fact I use all the venders, however paragon is the first catalog I pick up, their parts seem to be very correct. Good luck!
