Default 68 power steering question

On a 68 with a 327 (L79). What does the power steering pump etc. bolt to? Does it bolt to the heads in any way?

Just curious and hoping someone can help me out here.

The 291 heads aren't drilled for accessories.

Have you got an AIM? If so check out UPC N40, it's not very clear what bracket bolts where but the end of the exhaust manifold is tapped for I believe both the alternator and pump brackets.
I've got a 68 motor sitting in the garage and a power steering assembly and would be happy to figure it out tomorrow if no one else answers your questions.

Thanx Rick. Didn't you try to sell that assembly a while back?? Still want to sell it or did you give up and are planning to finally put it on your car?

I'm not sure if these pics will help you, but they are a good start ... I got them from one of the vendor websites. The pump mounting brackets may be different for bb and sb.

It's still for sale but if it doesn't sell I will end up putting it on my car "someday".

I was just thinking, I'm probably going to have to put everything back together to figure this out so it might take me awhile. I need to find all bolts and the alt. brackets.

I wish the AIM showed this clearer, I'd just post a picture for you.

Joe, those pics show what I needed. The brackets do not attatch to the heads. The heads I have don't have holes for brackets and drilling into the cast scares to make holes scares me.

Rick I may have to see about your PS system will pm you.

shmoky ... I hope you can work out a deal with Rick for his parts, but if he decides to keep them, I have some of the same parts that I don't need.
