Depends on what 327 you get........a 67 L-79 should smoke a 72 454.......

really. DIDNT THINK a stock 327 WOULD be a faster engine. is this L79 something unusual? dont know much about C2S. im just talking about a everyday 327 in a c2. thanks.

Well. its a high rpm 327/350 hp, spc cam, 11:1 compression......6000 red line. VERY fast. It's the optional "stock" 327 for the later mid years, not sure what year it was introduced.........also an option in 68

Nutsy I have a 68 427/390 automatic and a 65 L79 4 speed. The L79 is plenty powerful and very satisfying. You will enjoy it. It doesn't make the kind of low end torque the big block makes but, in my opinion, is one of the best hydraulic lifter small blocks ever made. Good luck with your search

FWIW: Consider a C2 with a big block. 396 in '65; 427 in 66 and 67.
