Hey Enkeivette I've been a big fan of your car and have been checking out your pics on a few forums that you have posted on. It has an amazing stance and with your new paint it looks stunning. I think everyone can agree that you have a very nice looking car. I think it is in your best interest to spend a couple hundred dollars dollars and fix up the issues that you listed. If it was me I would purchase a replacement passenger seat belt, buy a new headliner, get the tint redone(you said that it may be free but the most this will cost is about $50 and it will do wonders for the appearance) and finally buy an A pillar gauge pod and mount the boost gauge so it looks more professional. If a buyer comes to look at your car and they see that the boost gauge is zap strapped they are going to think to themselves where else have you mickey moused with the car. I'm unsure what you mean by the trim is blue, are you referring to the interior color?

Doing these things will increase the likelihood of someone buying your car, it turn it from being considered a "project" to a finished vehicle. You were able to modify just about everything on your car so its not like you arent able to do these things.

Those of you that are comparing this car to LiquidDragon I'm at a loss of words. I had never heard of that car so I went and look up some threads. The guy had spent 35k on his car as of December 2006 and he was looking for MORE loans to get the car finished! I looked through his photobucket account and I didn't see anything special about his car at all, there are many many much nicer looking rubber bumper c3's on this forum including enkeivette. For the 35k+ that he "wasted" on that car he would have been better off picking up a chrome bumper c3 and spending 10 grand on suspension, wheels and a custom interior.

Back to this car, I think this car could fetch around 15-17k if the "issues" are fixed, otherwise people are going to be lowballing you or making offers in the 10-13k range. enkeivette you should post up some more of your pictures so these guys can see the inside of your car. the engine etc etc.

That must be it, I'm just a moron who has bought and sold about 2 dozen collector cars in the past few years, including Corvettes. I don't imagine owning a truly rare and collectible C3 like a '69 L71 convertible gives me any insight into C3 values. I'm not a rubber bumper basher, either; I own a '74 4-spd.

You'll note that this moron did receive confirmation for values closer to $10k from a number of posters (battsup, CA-legal, dar322?, MNBrent). And, it didn't sound like any of the other posters were making OFFERS.

It's unfortunate that you resorted to name-calling. It must hurt to have "invested" so much only to learn that your car is worth AT BEST half of that and in reality probably a quarter...but those were choices you made.

why are people so easily offended? you guys need to chill out... seriously...

Unfortunately, I think with the current economy, people have less money for toys, even supercharged mean looking ones...

I would say just drive your DD, be patient, and when you land your first job, then upgrade to a better DD. I think everyone can agree you're probably not going to make your investment back, but you already knew that when you decided to mod a C3 Corvette...

So if you can weather the debts, keep it and know your weekend car is a bad ****... whatever you decide, good luck!

I stand corrected. Just be aware that ANY exhaust mods make smog testing potentially challenging. That's why I suggested it may not be transferable here. Heads and distributor and even the supercharger should not be an issue.

An easy way to test the waters, if you aren't already committed to sell, is to list it on eBay with a $50k reserve. Start at $100 and see how high it goes. If the bidding gets high enough so that you want to sell, just lower the reserve. Cost you around $100 but you'll get a real world appraisal.

Agreed. I really don't care what you claim to have done in the past, when you post an estimate almost half that of what everyone else posts... Are you the supreme authority? Enjoy your 195hp valueless rubber bumper. That thing flying past you is me in my POS Neon.

As for those of you suddenly posting low numbers spite me because you think that I'm an ***... I am an ***, point taken, but who are you trying to fool? She was was appraised at 12-14K without the Procharger, custom body work & paint.

As far as the economy is concerned, not all of us are affected by it. Especially not the people in the market for a 600hp impractical carbed monster. As Rush Limbaugh said, "I've heard about the recession, I just choose not to participate."

Battsup, the rest of you, thanks for the compliments and the advice. I have been thinking a lot about this and I've taken all reasonable advice into consideration. I would miss this car a lot. I'm considering selling my jet skiis and DD for an R6, keeping the Vette. But if someone shows up at my house with a sleek black C5Z... I'm not making any promises. As much as I'd like to stay around while HalfMoon strokes his false sense of supreme self-authority, I've got a first page full of reasonable estimates... and I'm out. Find me on Motorgen if you have a question, or try HalfMoon first, he seems to know everything despite the consensus.

Edit: As for the E-Bay comment, never sell your car on E-Bay. Buy on E-Bay, sell privately. That's how you do it. I bought a dirtbike on E-Bay for $375, turned around and sold it privately two years later for $500.
