well I finally did it, after about 1-2 years of "I should do that" I finally bought some new smd led's for the corvette, but could you help me on how to remove the dash? I know how to remove the center gauge bezel, I just don't know how to take the tach and spedo area out, Ive never done it and I don't have the car in front of me to look it through, so if you guys have some pictures that would help GREATLY!
Who knows what I might find!
Ill be doing this project during my spring break, and that starts on the 21st of this month, so Ive got some time
it pretty much has nothing that may cause an issue, As long as you remove the center gauge bezel first all will be easy after that. He is the best pic I can find
The best way I have found to remove the lower dash on the drivers side is like this.
1) Remove the center bezel
2) Remove the lower cover for the steering column.
3) Drop the steering column (yes it will save you time and broken parts) you don’t need to pull it all the way out, just drop it down a few inches.
4) Remove the 3 screws holding it to the upper dash and 2 on the side.
5) Pull the top of the lower dash out and unhook all of the lights and cables for the speedo and tach.
6) Then you should be ready to pull the dash out.
I am getting pretty good at pulling mine. for some reason it seems I always need to go back in and pull it to do something else.
