I finally plumbed my headlite doors to open and close like they should today...Drove it to a cruise in tonite...As I started home I confidently hit the switch and the doors came open the lites came on.....BUT when I push in the clutch they go out..Too dark to run the problem down tonite and conviently enoough I was a block away from a spare car and left the vette there..I'll go get it tomorrow.. The lites(electrical part) was one of the few things that hasn't had to be fixed on this car..I could have probably drove it home with the lights flashing off every time I shifted gears but I didn't have to so I didn't..
Check for the harness to be behind the clutch pedal instead of in front of it. I had this happen before, only it would shut the engine off every time the clutch pedal was pushed. I hope this helps.
.. It seems that you hit the floor high-beam switch accidentally while depressing the clutch, and if the switch has bad contacts it will turn off the headlights all together.
I had the same problem before, and when I dismantled and cleaned all the contacts in the switch it turned out to be good again.

I would have never looked there...That would be a whole lot more fun than re routing the haness...I'll go get the car shortly and check it out...Thanks for the tips Guys
