Only this time I had to take a step backwards in order to go forward. After much investigating & trying to get the right side fender to fit properly I found that the jig built nose was not assembled correctly.
The passenger side fender is 1/4" shorter (top to bottom) than the right. So the body lines didn't match up at the bottom of the door or at the mid point and there was a large gap between the fender and rocker panel.
After talking it over with Stan ( Road race vette)

at Carlisle. I pulled the fender off this weekend. It took a couple of hours but I got it off in one piece & pulled of the lower valence while I was at it. Here's how it looks now, but by the end of the week it should be glued back together.
