Default transmission pan help

Ive had trouble getting my stock pan to seal(th400). So I went to a performance shop here and picked up an aluminum pan. Its thicker and completely flat so I figured it might seal better. My problem is the fit. I have to use allen head bolts because of the tighter space on the lip of the pan, but now the two brackets for the cables dont fit. I read on here after searching that I would have to grind them down.

How do I get them off the cables? Do I have to grind under the car right next to my open tranny? or do they come off/cables have to come out? and does anyone have a picture of theirs?

Thanks for the help,
Sean

Can't you just add a spacer under the shift bracket (front and rear) to move it away from the lip of the pan? Also, I installed studs on both the tranny and the engine. No more loose bolts and everything seals great.

Im not sure I understand. Do you mean lower or away from the actual pan side?

Sorry it took a while to answer. Add spacers/washers to lower the bracket just enough to avoid the pan "lip". I had to do that to my tranny. Good luck

My pan must be a little different, longer bolts couldnt fix my problem. I decided to just try a couple things and get that sucker back on. So I ground a little...no a lot on the front bracket. For the shift cable bracket I took a piece of metal and made a spacer that took the cable further away (not down) from the pan. I compensated for the extra slack taken out and it worked perfect.

That seemed to of fixed the pan leak but im still getting a little from what seems to be the modulator seal. ive tried multiple times to get it to seal but it just keeps coming after driving it. No leaks when sitting but after I run the car it comes back.

Any suggestions on this, I had my car in a shop and they saw it was leaking and replaced it but it didnt help. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, Im tired of cleaning off the garage floor.
