Default coolant tank removal help......

search is not working correctly - what is required to remove the coolant expansion tank on a E1979? do i have to move the AC lines or anything like this to get it out of that cramped space??

I guess they must have stuffed some more stuff in there in '79...or the tank is different.

On my '77 you just remove the screws from the wheel side of the fender well and it just wiggles right out.

I replaced it on my '79. Turn the wheel all the way to the left, and there 3 bolts on the in the wheel well.

I think I loosened up the compressor, but didn't disconnect the lines to get it out. I also removed the plastic airduct from the fender that goes into that side of the aircleaner. It's kind of tight in there, but you should be able to it.

Here is what it looks like...

There is a panel in the wheel well that comes out for access. You have to remove the first two screws that hold the rocker panel molding on to get to the screws that hold the panel in place.

that sounds simple enough now. as you guys see in the above pic. its crammed very well under and behind everything and at first sight and me not thinking thought "how the heck do i get this thing out of here?" so now i know!

side note-- what happened to the search feature? i typed in collant overflow tank and got "car meet in dallas texas" and "headers for sale" etc. every result was not related to my inquiry like it used to produce
