After I put that stuff down do I leave the jute on the back of my new carpet or take it off?? Seems like if I leave it on it would be too thick and "fit" issues would arise.....
i remember someone saying yes it is too thick to get WOT. easier/better than removing the stuff off the carpets, remove the reflectix there. saves u 1/4-1/2 inch and the carpets are how theyre supposed to be
I tackled that project and found that the extra thickness interfered with my foot on the right hand side of the gas pedal and didn't allow for WOT under the gas pedal. I pulled the carpet back afterwards and just cut out all of the material in those two areas so it's only carpet there.

I did the same, plus in the future you may put a mat down, which will take up space as well

BUT it's a good idea to remove the jute backing anywhere it causes carpet to bunch-up. Just make sure you install heat/soundproofing first in those areas.
FYI: I removed all the jute backing and used HVAV tape to secure Reflectix over the entire bare interior & inner firewall...
great for blocking out heat and noise!
