I've never had problems with searching in the past, however, lately I've noticed that it's doing something different. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought that every key word you put into the search field, the software only lists threads that have ALL the keywords in it. In other words, if I put in the keywords: Red 1974 manual 454, it will only list threads with all 4 of these words in it. Am I wrong?
By the way I'm using the "advanced search" feature if that matters.

Did you try putting quotation marks around two or more keywords? That usually works somewhat OK for me why trying to narrow down a relevant post.

I think when you do this then the system is looking for exactly those 2 or 3 words next to each other. So that doesn't really help. I think there's a problem with the software. It makes it really frustrating because we all of us have issues with our vettes and we use this forum to find information to assist us with these issues. If the search feature isn't working properly then we're out of luck. I sure wish it would get fixed. I've read several threads addressing this very issue and it seems that the problem continues????
I've been spending less and less time on this forum since the last software upgrade due to my frustration with all of the issues including the poor search function. The mods are as frustrated as we are about this. The vendors are the ones who are going to have to insist the problem be fixed. Until they do, we can complain all we want but nothing is going to happen.
That said, I've been using Google to search this site. For example, put this string into a Google search and you'll get only this thread you started:
"search function help" site:forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-general
Remove the quotes and you'll get plenty of other threads. Replace "c3-general" with "c3-tech-performance" to search the Tech section.
Not a perfect solution but better than the forum search.
