Shift Boot
anyone know where to get a good shift boot for an 81? i got one from wilcox but it made my console sit uneven, and it was snubbing up on the shifter peg(the metal one) and had a wicked hard time getting it in, anyone else have this trouble or know where to get a good fitting boot?

We have not had a problem with this boot. Keep it in the car and tomorrow I'll have one pulled from stock and tested. We'll find you a good one and send it to you no charge. It may just be a defective one but lets make sure you get a good one!

81 the boot we tested today just slid right up over the plastic shift console with no problems. We did not put screws in the boot, but I did not see anything that would cause a problem.

Willcox last post was at 6:41PM on 3-27-09. That was last Friday after hours. Today is 4-1-09 and you are posting a toe tap for a vendor that is going above and beyond to solve a problem. I am saying this because I know they would not, but WOW give them a break!!

Maybe you shouldn’t have posted it on a public forum and then no one would have needed to say anything. I see from you user profile you are a business owner. How would you feel if you helped out an online community like willcox does and was trying to do the right thing. Then someone with unrealistic expectations makes it look like you were slacking. (If I had not looked at the post dates that’s what I would have thought) So I think I will go on and not take your advice to ZIP IT, but thanks for the suggestion.
