None of the original rear springs on my Vettes have any type of clamp/strap anywhere along the leaves. None of the Vettes that I've ever looked under had any either.
Question, half of the vendor catalogs show the repro steel springs with a clamp/strap on them. Half don't. Corvette Central advises to remove the strap.
What purpose do they serve? I've only seen one Vette spring start to "scizzor" but it had 100K miles on it.
Seems it would make for a stiffer ride, too, but a gymkhana spring is stiff enough to start with!
