I have heard that there is a difference in the front and rear calipers on these. Does anyone know how to tell the difference? I thought that the fronts could be put on the rear as long as it was the same side. But iDK for sure. I purchased one off ebay and the seller didn't know if it was for front or rear. I am getting ready to buy 3 more and would like to know before I go buy them. Thanks for the help, Ryan.

Nope, as you can see in the phot's above they are completely different sizes, not just on the outside, the fronts have much larger pistons too, the fronts also have two "o" ring joints between the two halves where as the rears only have one. it would only work if you drive your car backwards everywhere. LOL.
Well it looks like the calipers I have are mostly rears. 3 rears and one front. That's nice. LOL I guess I am on the hunt for a RH front caliper or just bite the bullet and buy one and pay the core charge.

I would really doubt that most guys at the autoparts stores would look at that 3rd rear caliper close enough to tell the difference. I have exchanged out so many different cores over the years, and I can not remember a single time that anyone just didn't chunk it in the original's part box and throw it in the back.
Also you are probably going to want to rebuild those calipers that you have unless they are brand new. I just tried to bleed my brakes on my very lightly used calipers. They had been sitting for the last couple of years while I worked on my frame off. Every one of them leaked just because they were sitting for so long.
They make the cheep rebuild kits that you can get at your local autoparts store or get a very nice rebuilt set from VB and P.
Here is the thread where these guys convinced me to go with the VB and P Kit.
I have one new caliper and 3 cores. I wanted to know how to identify these so I would end up with 4 correct calipers the first time and not play games if you know what I mean. I heard that the front pistons were bigger than the rears but couldn't really tell the difference as I just recieved my new LH front caliper. Again thanks for the help guys. And just out of curiousity, has anyone ever installed a rear caliper on the front? I am guessing that it would pull to the opposite side due to the apply pressure differences? Just curious.
