I have a Holley 750 with vacuum secondaries on a modified 427. I noticed today that no matter what I do to the gas pedal, the secondary butterflies will not open, even a little bit. I hooked up a vacuum gauge and my idle reading is 11inHg and under acceleration it goes to 15inHg. Is there possibly a hole in the diaphragm or maybe the spring inside the vacuum unit is too stiff? Any ideas would be great! Thanks

No need to panic.....the vacuum secondaries will open under load (when driving) under normal conditions. They won't (and shouldn't) open when you rev the pedal in neutral.....if they do, they would probably open too soon when driving. You could try different springs and give each the driving test to determine your best tuning.
Thanks for the advice guys. I also did the test where you clip a paper clip to the linkage below the diaphram and take it out for a test drive. When the secondaries open the paper clip is supposed to slide down and allow you to measure how much they open. When I preformed this test, the paper clip didn't budge. Perhaps I have a torn diaphragm. I guess a spring kit and extra diaphragms are in my future...
