The 75 and early ones are more valuable then the 77 and later. 76 is a one year only. I have seen the early ones go for 800 to 1K for very good ones and junk go for 400. The 77 and later I have seen go for 2 to 300 for ones needing working to 500+ for good ones.
The prices you see above are pretty accurate. I recently rebuilt my T/T in my '73 from top to bottom. I gave up on getting a used one. Too much junk out there and too expensive.
Unless your column in physically damaged beyond repair or you don't have a T/T and want one for more gut room getting in and out and driving your best bet is to rebuild your column. That way you save a TON of money and end up with a column that has new parts and works as good or better than anything you can buy used. While the column is out you can replace the rag joint and any other "while I'm at it" things that need attention under the dash.
Take a look at Jim Shea's papers and you will have all the info you need to rebuild your column. It looks scary at first but Jim's papers will make it easy. The only special tools you will need are a lock plate compression tool and a hub puller. Both can be rented from Autozone for free.
I bought 2 'junk' TT columns off of eBay for 25 bucks each. I was able to make one good one out of the 2 (along with lots of new parts) and installed it in my 71' which didn't have a TT.
