Default Jacked Up

Ok only someone that has done the work his self or really helped someone else put A tranny Mount in.

Do you have to un-hook the speedometer cable and the muffler bracket to get the tranny high enough to get the bottom bolts out???
Not much room for any tool does this take one of those curved wrenches ???? I Jacked the tranny up till it seemed like it wouldnt go any higher and still did not see how I can get the two bolts holding the mount to the car.
Thanks in advance. Last night I just put the bottom bolts back in and was going to be done with it but I figure if it was easy everybody would be doing it.
So tonight I try again.

I changed the mount in my '80 last Thursday. I unbolted all four bolts, put a bottle jack under the transmission with a small 2x4 between the two and lifted the trans a pump or two. Just enough to move the old mount out easily and the new one slipped right into place. Then I started all the bolts and lowered the transmission back into place and tightened everything up.

I forgot to mention what tranny I have its the th400 so the bolts are hooked to the mount from the under side ,up in the mount .my car is A 75 I sure your tranny is not the 400 so the mount hook up is night and day diffrent. It hought mine was going to be that easy but those two bolts will be a challenge unless i can get the tranny up A little higher. I think if I un-hook the speed cable (seems to be hitting the tunnel) and the clamps holding the muffler it might go high enough,To fish those two bolts out, the mount felt really tight but A 33 yr old part just worries me when it has to do with engine or transmission

Do you have an AIM (for a75)I do and the Picture shows the correct Mount but does not give the details on how to get it out .
My car is about 1 foot off of the garage floor so Im not sure I could even get A pic from that close.

Not the hardest thing to do. Just a little time consuming to jack up the car and then the trans, too.
